"DOPAMINE HOLIDAY"  Open Exhibition Review

Lourdes Navarro

The solo exhibition of Colombian female artist Lourdes Navarro in China opened in WINNERS GALLERY.  The exhibition showcases 28 pieces romantic artwork. The works are divided into four series: "Dreamscape," "Mountain Escapes," "Burn," and "City” Series.

Concrete boat, Oil and acrylic painting on canvas, 101 x 180 cm, 2022

Break on a sunny day, Oil and acrylic painting on canvas, 140 x 200 cm, 2023

Camping at home, Oil and acrylic painting on canvas, 140 x 200 cm, 2023

Why shoes if there is no house?,  Oil and acrylic painting on canvas, 110 x 150 cm, 2022

Lourdes Navarro reshapes our familiar reality through the forms of abstract and figurative painting. In Lourdes' works, abstract elements are expressed freely through lines, colors, and shapes, presenting the impulses of emotions and inner turbulence. These abstract elements consist of non-representational symbols, the free flow of brushstrokes, and the blurring and deconstruction of forms.

Canoeing,  Oil and acrylic painting on canvas,  131 x 196cm, 2023

Ball game,   Oil and acrylic painting on canvas,  168 x 94 cm, 2023

Stomach Fire,  Oil and acrylic painting on canvas,  132 x 97 cm, 2023

Lourdes combines the magnificent landscapes of the Andes, personal experiences, and dreams in her works through her distinctive visual language. Her works are more than mere reproductions; they create a visual diary of fleeting characters, symbols, and illogical narratives through the styles of abstract and figurative expressionism. Her works are presented in diverse forms, conveying complex and profound emotional states through variations in lines, colors, and textures. Viewers can feel the close relationship between landscapes, dreams, reality, and emotions in the works, and each piece tells a unique visual story.
